The gaurdian

So i just finished studying. I went down to see my parents watching The Guardian. I've watched it before. It's a very very nice movie. It stars Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Costner. It's about the rescue team. You know, the one that goes out to sea in a helicopter and risk their lives for those boats in danger due to choppy waters or heavy storms. Its a very touching movie with a lot of compassion. It makes 1 of my top 10 movies. By the way, here they are....

1. Harry Potter : The Goblet of Fire
2. Juno
3. Accepted
4. The Guardian
5. X-men 3
6. Catch me if you can
7. Camp Rock
8. King Arthur
9. The Terminal
10. Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Please note that they are in no particular order. My top 10 movies are all ties. They are all great and if you don't know any 1 of them, feel free to ask me in my chat box. Ok ciou for now.

Rainy days

I found this poem my sister wrote. She is currently in New Zealand studying and apparently its been raining a lot. So my sis being her typical self wrote a poem to express her feelings. Here goes.......

rain, rain go away
come again another day
come at night if you must
end at dawn and start at dusk

let the sun peek from the skies
keep those raindrops from my eyes
stop your wind that howls aloud
unless they're here to shoo the clouds

keep my jeans all dry and nice
i swear i haven't done any vice
i am but new to the country
i don't like how you're welcoming me

rain, rain go away
let the flowers grow as they may
keep me warm below my knees
rain, rain...please?

Disclaimer : I don't own any word in the poem. The idea all belongs to my sis, Karen Siah E-Ling.

................................................................................

Today at training, Allen showed some special training equipments. Such as paddles, fins, boards. We actually have all those things already but his is much better for improving. But also much more expensive. One of them was this special paddle which is larger than normal but also lighter. So you feel as if your hands extended but you don't feel the paddle there. It was so cool using it. Anyway it was highly recomemded for us to buy 1. It's $25. Yup they only sell in US. Adam's mom is going to buy it and we pay her. I'm not sure if i'm going to get one. Still thinking if the price is worth it. He also showed Adam and Kin Seng his drag pants. It's a special pair of pants that slows you down during training. It makes swimming harder therefore making you stronger.

Ok need to study again. Ciou!

Oh, and thanks to all the people that spoke in my chatbox. =)

Chat box

I decided to make a chat box. Hopefully some of you guys will spare some time to chat in it so that it would'nt look so pathetic. I want it to be active but I'm not sure since i don't have a very big reader base. Oh well, hopefully you guys will be kind enough. Ok i need to go study now. Tomorrow exam and i have very low confidence on how i am going to fare. We'll just have to see.......

Oh and yea, i know my last post was kinda emo. Just had some bad feelings lately. I think their all gone now.

P.S you have to highlight the things in the box. The width is too big so there will be letters left out. So just highlight to the end and you get too see the whole message

feelings

I'm having this feeling again. The feeling of us growing apart. I don't want it to be true. Of course i don't. I remembered when i had this feeling. It was a couple of months ago. I really don't like this feeling. I thought it will be different this time. But it looks like its heading toward the same place. I don't like that place. It was filled with misery and regret. I remember when i got out of that place. It was about a month ago. I was happy again. Now looks like I'm buying the ticket again. The ticket to that place. I wish i could tell you. How i hate that place. People have asked why do i feel like this. But i don't know why. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Maybe it was meant to end. I want to ask you this. Do you feel like this?

Olympic build-up

I'm sure most of you have watched these videos before. Their the Olympic commercials being played on Astro. The 1st one if a transformer based commercial. The 2nd is sort of like a gathering of great heroes(the athletes) based on the time of kings and knights. Reminds me of films like Lord of The Rings, Narnia and King Arthur. The 2nd one has many great athletes in it like Federer(tennis), Manoudou(swimmer), Powell(runner).

Day 2

I just got back from day 2 of the competition. This morning i did 1.11.57 for my 100m butterly. Didn't imprve but still was a good swim. I came back home to sleep, woke up, ate lunch and got back to the pool for 50m freestyle. When i got there, i tought i have to wait quite long, turns out, it was my turn soon. So i i did my warm up quickly.

In the MSSS 2004, 4 years ago, i did 38 for my 50m freestyle. I admired the people that could do below 30. I wished that someday i would be able to do that. And about 2 hours ago, i did 29.06!! I really am very happy. Finally one of the ''under 30s''. Had a great time there. Wonder if Ghim Hann did?

Ghim Hann: depressed.....Me: stoked as hell!

If you read Ghim Hann's blog or my blog, you know that we have a competition today. I didn't know what to expect because if you guys followed my blog, you will know i was sick and skipped 1 week of training. Anyway here were my times(the times in the brackets are my personel best).......

50m Backstroke: 37.39 (38.13)
50m Butterfly: 31.17(31.75)
100m Freestyle: 1.02.58(1.02.94)

Yup!!!!I improved in all the events!!! Guess the 1 week sick didn't affect my sprinting. But i'm sure it affected my endurance. I'll see how i do tomorrow then. I guess i'm doing well because this competition i had no pressure. I went there to have fun and had no expectations.

By the way, check out Ghim Hann's blog to see his review of the competition.

Accepted

I just finished watching Accepted on HBO. If you guys don't know what movie that is........
It is a really nice movie. I've watched it 5 times and still haven't gotten bored of it. Its like the best movie ever.

It's about this group of friends but mainly about 1 guy. Now this guy and his group of friends all just graduated from high school. They all applied for their colleges but all got rejected. This guy, his name is Bartleby Gains. He got rejected from 7 schools and his parents are starting to get worried. Especially his dad. So to please his parents, he faked a college application to show he got accepted somewhere. But the dad wanted to see the website, so he asked his friend to create a website with the motto '' Acceptance is one click away''.

So his dad was still not pleased and wanted to see the dean after he have dropped Bartleby off. So now Bartleby have to bring his dad to a real college. He soon finds an abandon mental hospital nearby and make it look like a real college. He gets his friend's uncle to pose as the dean. Things were going very well until a big group of outkast appeared at the door. All those students at the door were rejected by the other colleges and and found the website. They assumed this to be a real college. Bartleby didn't have the heart to tell them to leave, so he carried on with the idea.

He soon came up with the idea to ask the students what they want to learn and come up wit their ''unique'' classes such as, ''walking and thinking abouts stuff'', math-turbation, rock you face 202 and many more. So the adventure begins for Bartleby Gains and his ''college'', South Harmon Institute Of Technology (S.H.I.T).

I don't want to reveal any more because i want all of you to watch this movie. It may sound corny and boring but it's a wonderful movie about love, passion, and chasing your dreams. Please watch it. Here's the trailer..............

copy leonard

Ok, since Leonard put his target times. I also put la.

50m Backstorke : Nothing....
50m Butterfly : Zip.....
100m Freestly : Tak da
100m Butterfly : Not Available
50m Freestyle : 29.5

Ok i have totally no targets. Its simply because i skiped training for 1 week due to flu and the only reason i have a target for 50m freestyle is because i didn't swim it in the 1st leg and despite my 1 week slacking, i still can sprint. =)

I wonder

Sometimes i wonder......that when my friends talk about people they find annoying , do they talk about me when i'm not there. What do they think of me? Do they think i'm self-centred? Irritating? Getting too close? Boring? Do they get into their small little group and talk about me the way they talk about others when i'm with them? When they describe me to someone, how do they describe me? If someone were to talk bad about me, would they defend me, or agree? Or am i just a mere average person in our group of friends. The guy that will slip past every body's mind. The guy that makes people go....''Oh! Yea Keith. I forgot about him.'' What do they think of me? I wonder.........

.....................................................................................

On my swimming side. Things haven't been good. As some of you may know, i was sick the whole of last week. Therefore, Allen has decided to put me on special training until i get my form back. My training will consist more of endurance and possibly tougher compared to the rest. Oh well, damn the flu!

Heal the world

Michael Jackson - Heal the world
There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much
Brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow

There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place ...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me

If you want to know why
There's love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares of joyful giving
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and start living

The it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better place ...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify its soul
Though it's plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be god's glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into plowshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place ...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me
Hear this song people. Stop all fighting. Stop all wars. Stop all the non-sense that is spoiling human nature. God didn't put us here so we could fight and kill each other. He didn't put us here so that there will be separated nations fighting, racist wars, or hatred between ourselves. So all please heal the world and make it a better place. For you, for me and for the entire human race.

P.S There was actually an increase in health after people heard this song. Sick children actually got better after they heard him sing this song. So i suggest you take the song's advice because it was magical and worked wonders. Sadly many people have forgotten this song.

Inspirational

I know i have talked about this guy before but i just found his video so motivational. Yes im talking about George Sampson. You should try watching the 2nd video again and watch the part where they interviewed him beofre he danced. His words are stil in my head. For you guys that find it hard to understand the British language. Here is what he said.

''This experience have been the best. You know partly because it's miles away from what i would normally do everyday and i don't what that to end. I want to win this competition. For me mum. She's put a roof over my head. She put food on the table. And this competition will give me the power to pay her back.''

''You know i keep forgetting he's only 14. It georgeous and i love him.''

''If i go out tonight, then the dream is gone. And im back to being just the ordinary lad from Warrington. I got to put out all my best moves. I got to try the best. I got to show people that i can do it.''

''Rejected my Amanda and Peirs last year, here he is 1 year later and he's 1 of the favorites to win.''

''I'm a fighter you know and i'm gonna keep fighting and i'm gonna stay strong. If i win tonight not only will it change my life......It will SAVE my life.''

George Sampson
Mother
Simon Cowell

I just love the words. Don't you? That's all for this completly random post. BYE!

Forever Plaid

Just came back from Actors Studio Bangsar. I watched Forever Plaid. It's kinda like a musical but not really because it doesn't have much story in it.

The story goes like this.......

A group of 4 male singers in the 1950s was starting a band. They rehearsed in one of the member's parents' shop's basement. On their way to their 1st big gig, they got slammed by a bus filled with eager teens on their way to watch The Beatles in The Ed Sullivan Show. The teens survived but the Forever Plaid died instantly.

The musical starts off like this........

The Forever Plaid comes back to life and immediately panic on what to do. They all made the funniest faces when the asked the audience what year was it and they got a ''2008'' in response. They soon realise they have been given a life time chance to finally have the concert they didn't have. So they go on with their concert and acted really stupid.(like how a new fresh band would act at a concert if it was like a last minute thing to them).

The acting was marvelous. The songs were catchy. And it was simply entertaining through and through. I couldn't stop laughing at the ridiculous things they did. There was this 1 part where the pianist had a phone call and had to go off to speak to his mom (just acting of course). So he head backstage, and the Plaids called out to the audience to who knew how to play a song on the piano. A girl sitting in front of me bravely went up on stage and played the piano while the Plaids sang their song. She was then rewarded with a certificate.

Even though there wasn't much of a story, you can really feel a connection with the characters and their individual qualities. One is a nerd. One is a funny man. One always gets a nose bleed. And one more seemed like he was the leader. You can actually feel sad for them when they had to go back to being dead because they have finished their concert at the end of the show.

I would recommend people to watch it but sadly, the last show is tomorrow. It was really an eye-opener to the Broadway-ish kinda thing. The singers came all the way from London and this was a performance to raise money to help the spastic children in Malaysia.I really enjoyed myself and hope i get to see another play soon.

George Sampson

Do guys know the show Britians Got Talent? Its kinda like a really big talent show in Britain. Simon Cowell is 1 of the judges. The prize is 100 000 pounds and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of Prince Charles. Well the winner of the year is George Sampson. He joined the competition in 2007 and did very good in the auditions. Unfortunately, he didn't make it through it the semi-finals. Simon fought for him to go through but the other judges coulden't be convinced. Anyway here are his performances. Please watch them as they are entertaining and also inspirational because he comes from a poor family and had to perfom on the streets to raise money for this competition. He also has a back problem but refuses to stop dancing. The 1st video is his audition this year. The 2nd is the final round and the 3rd is when they anounce him the winner.

Speedo LZR

The LZR Racer suit is a high-end swim suit manufactured by Speedo with a new high-technology swimwear fabric composed of woven elastane-nylon and polyurethane. The technology is patented in Portugal and the suits are made in Petrotex, a textile factory located in Paços de Ferreira. It was launched on 13 February 2008.
This suit has been developed in association with NASA and the Australian Institute of Sport as well as the support of Speedo's sponsored athletes, and it is claimed once again to be the world's fastest swimsuit
.

This will be the focus of Speedo's campaign for the Beijing Olympics, spearheaded by Michael Phelps of the US, currently holder of seven world titles. It also continues the collaboration with Comme des Garcons introducing an element of fashion to a performance suit for the first time. As of July 2, 2008, 44 world records have been broken by swimmers wearing the LZR Racer.

It pulls the muscles into the perfect shape to swim. Lighter than others, it repels water, reducing drag. The seams of the suit are ultrasonically welded to further reduce drag. As a result of the success of the swimming suit, some people have asked for a review of the suit and if the suit is ethical when it comes to the sport of swimming.FINA endorsed use of the suit.
...............................................................................................

This suit is so freaking awesome. Too bad its 360 pounds!!!!!!

King!!!!

Today was the SMKSJ Road Run. I won last year and was hoping to win again. I was shocked when i found out all the boys will be starting together. I was afraid i would get affected by running with th form 5(s) like Divaghar. The route was the same as last year but this time it was in a diffrent direction. Last year the route had a lot of down hills, so this year there was going to be a lot of up hills.

After the girls started. They took quite long until we started. Once we started, most people sprinted (obviously). I saw Zul head infront. After the 1st turning, he started walking. I was then 4th(overall) and 1st(category). Infront of me was Divaghar,Yau Fai and some dude. I overtook Divaghar and Yau Fai soon after that but was afraid Divaghar might catch up. I Went ahead and overtook the girls. Heard many OMG(s) and DAMN(s).

Still afraid that Divaghar will catch up, i mantained my speed. I know my fitness level has gone down as i felt very tired. I urged myself to continue and finally the finish line was there. I targeted 17 minutes as i did 19 minutes last year. Turns out, my time was 16.34 minutes.

I was very happy to win the category. But even happier to settle my score with Divaghar for beating me in 5000m earlier this year. After that i expected Kin Meng to come in, but Q-Hung came in instead. So here were the standings for my category.

1st Me =)
2nd Q-Hung
3rd Vineeth
4th Rutheravan
5th Eusoff
6th Ghim Hann
7th Kin Meng
8th Omarul
9th Haziq
10th Jing Yi

Game over

Keith says, "Go update your blog".
But I said, "I need to take the thumbdrive from upstairs to put in pictures".
So here you go anyway. I updated it (:
I did it in blue some more !

Requested by Serena to update my blog. But there really is nothing to update about. So i guess this can be considred as updating too. So here is your ''updated'' blog post. And i did it in pink too. haha

............................................................................................................

Does those two things look the same? I don't think so. Anyway, i give up, game over. This would be so confusing for the people that read it.

DIffrent

Mine was totally diffrent from yours. 1st of all, yours was in blue and mine is in pink. Yours was ''align centre'' format and mine was none at all. And i dont see a copyrighted sign below yours too. So i can do anything i want.

Call me an asshole, 1 more time......

If you've watched the movie, you'll know what that line means. Its from Hancock. I watched it yesterday with David,Yuan and Allen. Haha. It was so weird going out with your coach. Anyway, my thoughts on the movie, great effects. But poor storyline. The story was a bit too simple and short. The movie lasted less than 1 hour 30 minutes. Not creative enough. But credit to the effects. It kinda reminded me of Spiderman, but spidey was a little better.

In London, i saw another super performance from Nadal, who have beaten the all-mighty Federer on a grass court. The match was won in 5 sets.6-4 6-4 6-7(5-7) 6-7(8-10) 9-7. The match was interrupted by rain twice. And it became the longest ever Wimbledon final. Lasting for 4 hours. I hope someday Nadal will overtake Federer as the world number 1. Until then, I'm sure he will just enjoy his Rolland Garros-Wimbledon double. By the way, the last person to win this marvellous double was Bjorn Borg in 1980.

I love you

Watched a new movie called Camp Rock. One of the songs rocked. This is Joe Jonas-Gotta find you......

Every time i think I'm closer to the heart,
Of what it means to know just who i am,
I think I've finally found a better place to start,
But no one ever seems to understand,

I need to try to get to where you are,
Could it be,your not that far,

(Chorus)
You're the voice inside my head,
The reason that I'm singing,
I need to find you,
I gotta find you,
You're the missing piece i need,
The song inside of me,
I need to find you,
I gotta find you,

Oh yeah
yeah yeah

You're the remedy I'm searching hard to find,
To fix the puzzle that i see inside,
Painting all my dreams the colour of your smile,
When i find you, it'll be alright,

I need to try to get to where you are,
Could it be, you're not that far,

(Chorus)

Been felling lost, can't find the words to say,
Spending all my time, stuck in yesterday,
Where you are is where i wanna be,
Oh next to you......and you next to me,
Oh i need to find you.....yeah

(Chorus)x2

Yeah yeah
i gotta find you

Sports freak

Ok I'm going to live up to my blog URL and show the sports freak part of me. Lets start with football.......

Viva Espanyol!!!
Yes, Spain won the Euro 2008. Guess i picked the right team to support after all. =). They won in a 1-0 victory over Germany in the final. So to make it longer, I'm going to show you their route to victory.

Group stage
Beat Russia 4-1
Beat Sweden 2-1
Beat Greece 2-1
Quarter-final
Beat Italy 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 full time score
Semi-final
Beat Russia 3-0
Final
Beat Germany 1-0

Go China!!!
Ok moving on to tennis. Zheng Jie, a Chinese tennis player has made it through to the semi-final after knocking out big starts like Ivanovic and Vadisova. I suggest all Asians(including you Malaysians) to support her as a sign that Asia is just as good despite their huge size disadvantage. Her next match will be Serena Williams. So go ASIA!!

Mark Spitz challenge

Most of you won't know what I'm talking about. It's about Michale Phelps, a US swimmer who is planning to break the 7 Olympic gold medals record set by Mark Spitz. Phelps have taken part in 9 events this Olympics and hoping to get at least 8 golds. Many have said he won't be able to do it. I still am not sure wether he can or he won't. Whenever i think he won't be able to do it, he goes and break a world record at some trials. So i just have to see.

Strong or just plain suck?

My dad and I have been having this discussion for some time now. It's about our badminton national team. When one player does something out of the ordinary and wins a miracle......they soon fizzle out. Here are some examples.......

Hafiz Hashim....
Won the 2003 All-England cup and was regarded as 1 of Malaysia's most skillful players. Now look at him. Not even qualifying for the Olympics, can barely be considered a title contender at tournaments. What happened to the player that out government praised and rewarded wonderful things back in 2003?

Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong
The most recent list of disappointments. 1 year ago they won back to back titles starting from the Asian Games. Being praised for giving such a good performance after just being paired for 3 months at that time. Their reign however ended at the 2007 Swiss open where Koo vowed to shave his head bald if they won that tournament. They did win. But Koo just had a crew cut instead of a shave. This led to many losses and horrible displays of badminton. Most will say it is caused by the broken promise he gave.
Lee Chong Wei
Probably the most satisfying player of all. He did however stumbled last year and gave some ridiculous excuses. But he somehow managed to make up for it with some remarkable victories. The most recent was the win over Lin Dan at the Thomas Cup this year. But all badminton fans will remember his comeback win in Malaysian Open 2006. 20-13 down against Lin Dan and he came back to deuce and win the match. FANTASTIC!

Hopefully the upcoming stars such as Wong Mew Choo and Zakry/Latiff wont be a disappointment. It really is such a waste.

..........................................................................................................................................................

Ok done with my incredibly long post. Oh well, until next time. Bye!!!
