Ok ok la

Just came back from the competition. Heres how it went......

50m Butterfly

Didn't improve on this event but it was ok. Didn't expect much for this is a warm pool. People perform below par in warm pools..... Anyway, i did 31.35 while my best time is 31.17. Not bad considering the conditions. Lost to Kuang Lee........Haiz...............

100m Freestyle

On the build up to this event, the rain starting pouring. It was like very very very heavy. But still they continued. So i swam in the rain. Everything was so messy. Usually i would look forward to this event, but this time i didn't. For one, i was placed in a heat where i am the 2nd slowest seeded time. And during this race, i was the slowest in the heat. Guess thats what you get when you improve and go on to race against faster people. Did 1.02.57, yay new best time by 0.01. And with the rain some more. Not bad i say. But stil lost to Kuang Lee.........haiz..................

Game On!

Tomorrow/today i'll be going for the final leg of Sports Excel. And guess what, out of the 5 events im in, 4 of them Kuang Lee is in the same heat as me. Now just trying to pump myself up before i go to sleep. Wish me luck guys. See ya!

P/s this song is the latest add to my ''semangat'' play list.

Random boredom.......6 steps

6 steps of break up.

Step 1: Build-up
This is the,
Potential break-up song,
Our album needs just one.
Oh baby, please, please tell me!
-Potential break up song(Aly and Aj)

Step 2 : Denial

cause we've had our rough times
Been fighting all night
And now we're just slippin away
So you'll give me this chance

To make the wrongs right, to say…
Don't, don't, don't walk away

-Promise (Simple Plan)

Step 3: Grieve

She fucking hates me.......... trust
She fucking hates me.......... la la la love
I tried too hard and she tore my feelings

Like I had none and ripped them away
-She hates me(Puddle of mudd)

Step 4: Rebound

Oh, kiss me
Like you mean it
Like you miss me
Cause I know
That you do

I wanna get back

Get back
With you

-Get back(Demi Lovato)

Step 5: Rebound failure

She fucking hates me.......... trust

She fucking hates me.......... la la la love
I tried too hard and she tore my feelings

Like I had none and ripped them away
-She hates me(Puddle of mudd)

Step 6 : Acceptance

Well it's time to surrender
It's been too long pretending
There's no use in trying
When the pieces don't fit anymore
The pieces don't fit here anymore
-Pieces don't fit anymore(James Morrison)

Friends and i were discussing this earlier. Haha bored times lead to strange topics.

Demi lovato

Ok, another music update for you guys. Demi Lovato.......heard of her? Well she stars as Mitchie in Camp Rock. She is only 16 and just got out into the whole singer/actress thing. Well, she is actually not bad. She has a new album coming out soon and one of the songs are ''Get Back''. For me, after being totally addicted to her songs in the movie after watching it, i had to listen to this. Well here it is.

And please promise me that you would listen to it at least twice before you make comments on it. Because the 1st time i listened to it, i was thinking that this was crap. Then the more i listened to it, the more i liked it. So just listen to it at least twice.

I promise......

Ok another song. Haha. But this is not random. I really liked this song. Loved the lyrics and also the meaning of the song.

Simple Plan-Promise

Breakdown
I can't take this
I need somewhere to go
I need you
I'm so restless
I don't know what to do

'cause we've had our rough times
Been fighting all night
And now we're just slippin away
So you'll give me this chance
To make the wrongs right, to say…

Don't, don't, don't walk away
I promise
I won't let you down [you down]
If you take my hand tonight
I promise
We'll be just fine
This time
If you take my hand tonight
If you take my hand tonight

Without you
I go through the motions
Without you
It's just not quite the same
Without you
I don't wanna go out
I just wanted to say

That I'm sick of these fights
I'll let you be right
If it stops you from running away
So just give me this chance
To make the wrongs right
To say

Don't, don't, don't walk away
I promise
I won't let you down [you down]
If you take my hand tonight
I promise
We'll be just fine
This time
If you take my hand tonight

Take my hand
Take my hand [I promise]
Take my hand [I promise]
Take my hand

I promise
I won't let you down [you down]
If you take my hand tonight
I promise
We'll be just fine
This time
If you take my hand tonight
If you take my hand tonight

I won't let you down
So take my hand tonight

Meant to live

Fumbling his confidence
And wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he's bid for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly

[Chorus]
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

Dreaming about Providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we've been livin with our eyes half open
Maybe we're bent and broken, broken

[Chorus]

We want more than this world's got to offer
We want more than this world's got to offer
We want more than the wars of our fathers
And everything inside screams for second life, yeah

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live
We were meant to live

Wondering what's with the random song? I don't know too. But this song got me distracted from homework. =). Ok back to work. Bye

Israel blackjack

Just came back from Pyramid, watched two fascinating shows, one was 21 and the other was You Don't Mess With The Zohan. I know, weird combination. One was a total intellectual and smart kick-ass show. While the other was a comedy which made no sense and logic at all. But i have to say, out of the two, i preferred 21, it was so cool. The way he could get a black jack so freaking easily. And the life he had after getting the money, well lets just say, i want a life like that too by just counting cards. And it was so cool with all the secret signals and codewords. I like the part where it was his 1st time in Vegas and he was like ''+15, still + 15, +14, +15, +14,+13, boom, Blackjack. On the other hand, Zohan was cool too in his own wacky way. Adam Sandler is a total nuthead but still cool. Some parts were a little, how do i put it?, disturbing. Story line was very simple. Villain was a joke. Movie had no sense at all. But still, it was entertaining. Can't beat 21, but it was still a worthy ''laugh my ass off'' movie.

Games still on

Although the swimming in the pool have ended, the marathon 10km women swimming went underway yesterday. Larisa Ilchenko won it in 1hour and 59 minutes. And she's only 20! She showed intelligence and class well beyond her age as she merely drafted behind 2 Great Britain swimmers and finally overtaking them in the last stretch. She now is the 1st ever 10km Olympic winner as this is a new Olympics sport. There was also an amputee among the field of swimmer who lost her leg due to a motorcycle accident. She qualified for the Olympics swimming with just 2 hands and 1 leg. That itself was an achievement. As if it wasn't good enough, she came in 16th out of 25 able swimmers. Not bad i say for a girl with only 1 leg. Natalie Du Toit of South Africa have showed a performance and courage worthy of a gold medal.

HAHAHA

Found this in my computer a few days ago. Found it kinda funny.

Here's another one

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day

Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day?
Thou are more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And Summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd:
But thy eternal Summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Final day of finals

Today was the very last swimming day of the Olympics. Only 4 events were left in what would be a memorable week. I enjoyed the highs and lows. The twists and turns of all the swimmers. So here is today..........

Britta Steffen
After winning the 100m freestyle, she looked in good shape to win the 50m as well. The swimmers were all neck and neck but she pulled away together with Dara Torres and Cate Campbell. She eventually beat Torres by 0.01sec, similar to Michael Phelps 100m butterfly yesterday.

Oussama Mellouli
In the 1500m freestyle, there were a few contenders. One of them being two time Olympic champion Grant Hackett. Hackett was concentrating on Cochrane of Canada through out the whole race. Don't think he saw Mellouli making a move half way through. As they turn for the last 100m, Hackett tried too catch up but the Tunisia swimmer was just too far away.

Team Aussie
Aussie Aussie Aussie. Oi Oi Oi. The women's 4x100m medley relay have always been an advantage for Australia. Their closest rivals were the Americans. Australia's baby girl Emily Seebohm only being 16 years of age at this Olympics, started out in the backstroke as Natalie Coughlin started for USA. This was proved to be the Aussies weakest point as world record holder Coughlin surged ahead. In the breastroke, it was Liesel Jones for Aussies and Rebecca Soni for USA. Jones overtook the USA and gt a lead to give to the butterflyers. Now it is Jessica Shipper against Christine Magnuson. Shipper showing her dominace and maintained the lead. Now for the anchors, Lisbeth Trickett and Dara Torres. Torres fighting desperately to come back but Trickett was just too strong.

Team USANow for the men to strut their stuff. Again it was going to be a Aussie-USA battle. But this time it was the Americans turn to be favorites. Backstroker Aaron Piersol was up for the USA and showed why he is the Olympics champion as he came home 1st. Now for the breaststroke leg, Brendan Hansen also the world record holder took on Brenton Rickard of Australia. But this time it was the Japanese who fought back with Kitajima overtaking all. Now in to the butterfly, Michael Phelps wanted to show that his 100m butterfly was no fluek and he was right as he powered home 1st. The freestyle leg showed Jason Lezak taking the USA home as he held on, not letting Eamon Sullivan overtake him. And as for Phelps.....cal him whatever you want, Superman Phelps, Phenomenal Phelps, Freak in the pool. Anything! It all is just an understatement of the best swimmer in history. Congrats to you and may your 8 gold haul be remembered till years to come.

Check it out

For those of you that have been following the swimming portion of the Olympics. Then you would know a girl named Stephanie Rice. Winner of the 200IM and 400IM. I'm sure most of you would like to hear this, especially Ben if you are reading this. I know you're obsessed with her. Anyway, getting to the point.....i found her blog! Haha here it is. But it's a little dead now since she is in China and all.

Enjoy guys. I know the girls won't really care.

Swimming finals day 7

Sorry again for not posting yesterday. Anyway heres today.....

Kristy CoventryIn the 200m backstroke Coventry looked as determined as ever. After narrow losses in the 200Im,400IM and 100m backstroke, she was focused on getting a gold instead of settling for 2nd best. She was the defending champion and her only competition came from Hoelzer of USA. But she absolutely dominated the pool in this race. Winning this event in world record time.

Michael Phelps
This was probably worth 2 gold medals for Phelps before the race. If he were to lose this to Crocker, his teammate, then he would lose his spot in the 4x100m medley relay. And Phelps wasn't about to let that happen. Crocker died away fast and Cavic was leading. The commentator said that Cavic would need to be 0.7 seconds faster than Phelps on the 1st 50m if he wants to win for Phelps is just so commanding in the 2nd 50m. Cavic turned 1st and was 0.62sec in front of Phelps. Phelps was slowly gaining ground but it didn't look enough. But as they touched the board, Phelps name was up there as number 1. Replay showed that Phelps(top) finished with his arms above the water and Cavic(bottom) was gliding to the wall underwater. At the 99.9m mark, Cavic was in front but Phelps snubbed him to win the race by 0.01sec. By the way, Crocker didn't get a medal.

Rebecca Adlington
She was aiming for a 2nd gold in this 800m event to go with her 400m gold. And she wasn't about to disappoint. She trashed the other together with trashing the 19 year-old world record set by Janet Evans in 1989. She i dare say is the middle distance swimmer of all time. She is the 1st British swimmer to win 2 golds at the Olympics in the last 100 years. Yes, not 10, 100!

Cesar Filho Cielo
Nobody knew what to expect from this lad in the 50m freestyle. Nobody gave this pint sized Brazilian any chance even when he was the fastest qualifier. All eyes were set on the likes of Eamon Sullivan and Alain Bernard, when suddenly they saw this guy in lane 4 powering to the finish. The medal presentation was filled with emotion for this guy and he has my respect. Bernard in the end got 3rd while Sullivan got 6th.

Swimming finals day 5

Yet another thrilling day at the pool..........

Kosuke KitajimaAfter winning the 100m breaststroke, he was determined to win the 200m as well. If he does, he will be only the 2nd man in history to win both in 100m breaststroke and the 200m breaststroke in 2 consecutive Olympics. And he did win it, and in incredible style i might add. He didn't look please though after he finished. For he didn't break his world record time. But he have once again stomped his dominance in the breaststroke events.

Liu ZigeAgain Asia showed they too can excel in sports. Moments after Kitajima's swim, Liu was out on a mission. She was the fastest qualifier and snubbed Jessica Shipper, the world record holder, of the 4th lane. She was 2nd through out the whole race. Jessica as expected led. This 200m butterfly used to be her territory. But at the last 50m, Liu went into overdrive and overtook Shipper. Soon after, Jiao from lane 3 overtook Shipper as well. So its 1 and 2 for China and with Liu beating the world record mark.

Alain Bernard
Once again the blue ribbon event was shaping out to be a thriller. Eamon Sullivan and Alain Bernard have been battling it out from different sides of the world for the world record. The even continues their battle in the semis as both broke the world record even though they were separated into different heats. The 100m freestyle final was exactly how i expected it to be. The 2 broke off from the field instantly and turned with Sullivan being 0.05 seconds in front. They were neck and neck all the way but Bernard won by a touch. The surprising thing was, they didn't even come close to world record. Oh well, it was 1 heck of a fight.

Team Aussie
Finally get to review a relay without saying team USA. In the women's 4x200m freestyle relay, the Aussies ruled. They led from start to finish with total dominance. They broke the world record by more than a body length. What else can i say? It was left to China and USA to fight it out for the silver with China winning slightly ahead. The Aussies were strong from the start with Stephanie Rice starting them off and Linda Mckenzie swimming the anchor leg.

Swimming finals day 4

Another day of fabulous swimming.....

Federica PellegriniThe Italian world record holder surprisingly hasn't won a medal yet in this games. But looks like she has had enough of losing. In the 200m freestyle today, she won the gold and in world record time too. It was once a gain a close finish with Sara Isakovic of Slovokia and Pang of China taking the bronze and silver.

Michael PhelpsThe 4th time this name have been here. He won the 200m butterfly to claim his 4th gold. He look at equal with Moss Burmester through out the whole race. But at the last 50m, Phelps geared up to get yet another gold, and another world record to his name. Another fine swim by the ''freak''. And please be noted that he did this event with water leaking into his goggles.

Stephanie Rice
Roll the drums out for this Aussie once again. After claiming the 400IM, she was determined to place herself as the world's best female IM swimmer. In the 200m IM she once again showed her abilities. After following close to Natalie Coughlin in the butterfly, she caught up with her in the backstroke. And please remember that Coughlin is the 100m backstroke winner. But then during the backstroke, Kristy Coventry of Zimbabwe caught up and overtook Rice. In the breastroke, they were neck and neck but Coventry gaining a tad advantage at the turn. In the freestyle they both together. Nothing could separate them.
But at the final 8m i saw a sudden increase in stroke rate for Rice and won by the touch.

Team USA
Once again the relay is here to take us away. This time is the 4x200m freestyle relay. The USA desperately trying to show that their 4x100m relay was no fluke. They led from start to finish in a race that they dominated. The were almost 2 body lengths ahead of the record and more than 3 body lengths in front of the other teams. They soon became the 1st team in history to reach below 7 minutes as they clocked 6.58. They broke the world record by 5 seconds and its another gold for Phelps.

Swimming finals day 3

Another day of finals. Have to say, not much today, compared to yesterday, this was dull. But going to put out the winners anyway.

Michael PhelpsThis was probably the best race today. When i think of Phelps, i think......IM(fantastic swimmer)......butterfly(also fantastic swimmer)......but free......hmm not sure. Anyway i was thinking he may not get his 8 golds because of this event, 200m freestyle. But he proved me wrong and won it in what seems to be the only way he knows how, to win with a full body length and setting a new world record. He actually could have won the whole thing just by his underwater kick. As soon as everybody dived in, they all surfaced one by one. But Phelps stayed down, he kept going and going, and when he came up, he was already half a body length in front. And at every wall he just extended his lead. The commentators
described him as a freak in the water. YES.....
HE IS THAT GOOD!

Natalie Coughlin

After losing her world record to Kristy Coventry in the heats, she was determine to get revenge. In the 100m backstroke Coughlin took home the gold in a very convincing swim.
She led from start to finish but didn't get back h
er world record time. Conventry on the other hand was far away from the record which she set a day earlier. And came back to finish 2nd.

Aaron Piersol

Criticised for his poor form leading up to the final. He was placed in lane 2 for he was the 3rd slowest qualifier. But it look as seem he was merely saving the best for last as he powered home in world record time. Finally showing the true Piersol. The bronze was shared in this 100m backstroke with 2 swimmers finishing with the same time.

Liesel Jones
After winning a silver in Sydney and bronze in the last Olympics in this event, Liesel Jones was determined to get her gold. With her holding the world record, very few would doubt that she could do it. She finish the 1st 50 of this 100m breastroke 2nd behind teammate Tarnee White. But soon she sprinted home in style but sadly not in world record time. She did however break the Olympic record. So finally a gold for Jones to go together with her bronze and silver.
