Olympic fever

The 2nd day and already i'm high. These few swims have both inspired and also excited me. Here they are.......

Michale Phelps

This man is close to being not human. Possibly the greatest swimmer in history if he breaks the 7 gold record at a single Olympics set by Mark Spitz years ago. Well his quest started today in the 400IM as he was facing to
ugh competition from Lazlo Cecsh and Ryan Locthe. This was credited as his hardest out of the 8 events he plans to win gold. Well he answered those doubts with sublime style. He broke his own world record by a body length which he set only 2 months ago! He blew away his competition finishing 3 seconds ahead. He has my support and i hope he can achieve his 8 gold mark. Well, 1 down, 7 more to go my friend.

Stephanie Rice

Before this, my favorite male swimmer was Grant Hackett. My favorite female swimmer was tied between Stephanie Rice and Libby Trickett. But now i say Rice is way better than Trickett. Moments after Phelps' enthusiastic performance in the 400IM, she her self wanted to show that swimming wasn't all about the great American. After Katie Hoff(the girl dubbed as the ''female Phelps'') had stolen her world record earlier this year. She showed how much she wanted it back. And she got is back in gold medal style. Rice led from start to finish in the 400IM women. After her much criticised photos on Facebook, and her emotional break up with Eamon Sullivan before the Olympics, she showed her personal life could never interfere with the winning mentality of Stephanie Rice. She too broke the world record by a body's length.

Park Tae Hwan

Now its Asia's turn to show their talent. 18 year old Park Tae Hwan have been Asia's golden boy in swimming. He showed that Kitajima is not the only Asian to be successful. Park swam his 400m Freestyle like the true champion he is. Said to be the biggest threat to the world record set by the legendary ''Thorpedo''(Ian Thorpe) who retired last year. With Thorpe out of the picture, he was aiming for the world record. He didn't break it sadly. But you can't take anything away from him because he tried. Oh boy, did he try. He swam the race of his life to give South Korea their 1st ever gold medal in swimming. As far the record, hey, he's only 18. He has years to come before he breaks down that target.

..................................................................................

Well that wraps up today's events. Will be enjoying the rest of the Olympics for there are still many to come such as.....

Kitajima.....
After seeing Park take gold, i'm sure he is aiming to not let Asians down.

Eamon Sullivan.......
His ex-girlfriend Stephanie showed she hasn't been affected by their break up. How about him?

Alain Bernard......
Confidently saying he is going to win the 100m Freestyle. Can't wait to see his showdown with Sullivan.

Guess my bro was just as excited as me. Check out his blog......
