Football season is back with the Premier League kicking off this recent weekend. After a dry 3 months, its back to the weekly dose of the greatest game on Earth. I just realised that yesterday(7 Aug), i am already exactly 6 years as a SSC member. I have always regarded as joining Stingray as 1 of the best decisions i ever made in my life. It really steered my life into a whole other direction. Without Stingray i would have been any normal 15 year old wondering what it was like to compete, feel the burn of training, and meet people from all around Malaysia. Well, instead of wondering, i got the chance to actually live it. Up till today there is not a single moment i regret being a part of the club as it has thought me alot. There is always things that you can learn outside of school and being a swimmer in this club have thought me much. I've met many faces, i've suffered lows as well as celebrated highs. It would be a painful experience to one day leave the club to continue studies or something else overseas. The club have changed much over the years but the fun is still there. From unforgettable trips to memorable events, Stingray Swimming Club have given me an opportunity to see the world in a totally different way, and for that i thank everyone involved in it.........

The 2009 aquatic World Championships are here and being held in Rome. I only started to take notice when they started the swimming section of the meet. The Synchronise Swimming and Diving events had already started and ended with two of our Malaysian girls, Leong Mun Yee and Pandelela Rinong Pamg won the bronze in the synchronised 10m springboard. Saturday , 18th July 2009Today i went to watch Man Utd play Malaysia XI. To be honest i wasn't in the mood after the 1 hour in the car trying to find parking and the half and hour walk to the stadium. But once i sat down and heard the crowd cheering and singing, nothing else mattered. I had watched (in my opinion) the greatest football players play right in front of my eyes. It match ended 3-2 in an exciting game. The fact i actually witnessed it in a stadium made it 10 times better. Rooney opened the scoring with Nani doubling the tally. At 2-0 i secretly wanted Malaysia to score some to get the game going as it was slowing down already and guess what, they did. Amri Yahyah scored a well placed chip of Van der Sar the make it 2-1 at half time. He then did it again in a much easier way in the 2nd half against Ben Foster. The remaining minutes were just fantastic. The crowd were practically screaming for Sir Alex to bring on Owen, and when he did, i thought the stadium was going to collapse. It was even louder when he actually scored in the remaining 5 minutes. Fantastic atmosphere, amazing experience.

Sunday , 19th July 2009If Saturday's events weren't enough, i went to watch Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince today at Pyramid. As much as it pains me to say this, i was disappointed. It really wasn't like the other Harry Potter movies. I think it was the kind of story that could only be placed in a book. I also thought it was a dumb move that the trailers were making it seemed as if it was an action movie. To be frank, this had everything the previous one didn't and lacked everything the previous one did. Order of Phoenix had plenty of action and duels but lacked a proper story. This one had a very good story and there were some parts where i was really into it but there weren't many duels or any magic in that case. The only duel i remembered was a brief one involving Harry and Draco. Not many spells were used and the romance part were a little too awkward. As most of you may know, i keep my word of never reading a book before i actually watch a movie.

My theory is that the book will always be better therefore ruining the movie. And some people say the movie can only be nice if you read the book. If that's true, then David Yates is a fool. Majority would have only watched the movies with out reading the book. He should have known that and should have tried really hard to turn it into a good film. I'm sorry Potter fans, i know how you feel as a fellow fan myself but the movie just wasn't good, it was missing the usual Harry-Potter-feel. One thing good i can say about the film is.......

Ok so the Subang Rally 09 was held at Sunway College yesterday. Based on feedback from friends, it was awesome. I wished i went for the conference but for some reason or another i didn't. I instead only opted to go for the Night Concert since it was free and wanted to experience the thrill. It was fantastic, if the conference was nearly as good i truly regret going. I'll be there next year, you can count on it. I had lots of fun, and really enjoyed rocking, jumping, and screaming to worship songs. Well done organising committee.

I recently watched the Michael Jackson Memorial. It was a really great 3 hours spent. I feel the tribute to him was fantastic and the fact that all the stars came out to celebrate his triumph was breath-taking. Some speeches were fantastic and the performances were entertaining. My heart goes out to the Jackson family for your lost. We thank you for giving us the gift called Michael Jackson, the man that attempted to heal the world. And in his own way, succeeded. He broke barriers none of us could even dream of doing and he set standards that would take a long long time to be beaten. Rest in peace King of Pop........

After reading numbers of articles by professional bloggers, i have come to the decision that this isn't a bad idea. It seem like a stupid move at 1st, but then come to think of it, its brilliant.

Micheal Owen may be 29 and his aging reflexes and speed that used to grant him numerous goals that made him 1 of Europe's top strikers may be fading fast, but 1 thing he has gained is experience and 1 thing he has kept is his finishing touch. If you look at it in a way United may have just been a total laughing stock as they lost Tevez and Ronaldo, as well as losing the chase to sign Benzema and Ribery. But look at it this way instead, Ronaldo didn't seem to be in the right mind to play for United any longer and Tevez would never get that 1st team starts he wants. As for Benzema and Ribery, they would have been excellent additions to the team but not worth the asking price.

United would have had to pay an estimated 45 mil just to get a young striker still having to prove whether he can play in the Premier League. Life was very different for him in the French league that may have influenced his goal tally. Same story for Benzema as the Bundesliga is not nearly as good as the EPL. Instead, Fergie made a great move to have bought Antonia Valencia, a player who has just matured and playing well IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE with Wigan.

Of course Owen wouldn't even be able to fill the shoes of either Ronaldo or Tevez let alone 2. But that task has already been placed on Rooney and Berbatov and the rest of the team to step it up. While they are doing that, Owen will be given time to settle in, regain full fitness unlike how he was rushed into the Newcastle team due to the lack of resources over at the Toon. Another plan Fergie may have thought of is the World Cup. Owen was an instant England choice back in his day and he wants it again. Now with better players surrounding him as well as shots at bigger tournaments such as the Champions League, it can only be good for him, and if its good for him, it can only be good for the team.

If it all goes well, Owen would have been a bargain if he regains even 80% of what he used to be. And if it all fails, there wasn't much money put into this (unlike a flop that would have been caused by Benzema or Ribery), also the fans didn't expect much from him. Apart from all that, people like Macheda and Welback can only benifit from having a once expert-worldclass finisher to elarn from apart from the already great influence given to them by Solskjaer

I watched Transformers : Revenge of The Fallen at Summit USJ last night. I haven't been there in ages. But i really didn't regret going there. Although Summit is practically dead compared to Pyramid and 1U, but GSC is 2 times better than TGV. The movie was great, awesome cars, awesome-er robots, hot girls, this movie had it all.

I think Michael Bay did a good job at making it a action-comedy-romance movie. The action part definately checked out because of the really really really cool robots flying all over the place. There were parts which were confusing due to Autobots and Decepticons all looking the same and there were no attempts at all to introduce the new robots. Did anyone even notice who was Arcee, Ravage, or Sideswipe? The only robots tat did get actual screen time were the twins Skid and Mudslap who were absolutely hilarious and Devastator who didnt really need an introduction ( it was the one "remodeling" the pyramid).

As for acting, i could never really comment on how good someoen acts or how bad. Shia Labeouf still looks like a small kid only taller but i wouldn't choose anyone else to play Sam Witwicky. Megan Fox.....no explainations needed. The new guy, Ramon Rodriguez who plays Leo is another actor thrown in there for the comedy factor along with John Turturro who played Agent Simmons in the 1st movie.

I highly recommend this movie to everyone. The effects were great although the plot may be hated by some, I found it rather creative. And i think Michael Bay made a smart choice by creating his own stories and not following the originals. This will give him space to make any sequel he wants. And the fact that he closed up every movie, he can start a new 1 very easilly. There has been a rumor that a Transformers 3 is in process but if it is, the air date will only be in 2012.

As most of you have already heard, Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, has passed away in a hospital in LA due to cardiac arrest. We all know him. We all at some point worshiped him. We all felt it was a waste as we heard all the bad publicity. Many singers have rised since his prime. Many has tried to copy his moves. But none had that certain edge. None had a flair we all wanted. None of them were MJ. His name shall live on. From the small 11 year old singing with his brothers like it was the time of his life, to the master of the moonwalk leaving people in awe. From Thriller to Beat it. Smooth Criminal. Black or white. Heal the world. Bad. All greats just to name a few. Nobody could ever capture our hearts the way Michael did. And therefore i bid you good luck in your afterlife while we, the people you mesmerised continue to worship and respect for you and only you can be our true King of Pop.

Arguably my favorite Michael Jackson song. Not many of you will know it. But it was the 1st MJ song i heard as far as i can remember.

I havn't updated in awhile. That's because i have nothing much to update about. I recently watched Princess Protection Program. I have been waiting for this movie since some time last year. When i heard in stars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, i just couldn't resist. The show was not bad. Typical Disney ending. I'm glad Demi was chosen to play the princess because I always thought Selena does an excellent job at being the average-teenage-girl who doesn't care about what people thinks for example Wizards of Waverly Place and Another Cinderella Story. Their chemistry as best friends definately helped the show.

Another thing i found was a new album released by none other than Kate Voegele who plays Mia Katalano in One Tree Hill. I was a fan of her 1st album and now starting to like this album too. Its called A Fine Mess and it offers the usual taste of mixed emotions in the song lyrics.

Yesterday was a great day. I woke up at 10 and met with the guys from Stingray around 11. We went to Pyramid to supposely watch Night at the Museum 2 but delays and other reasons we didn't get to. So we ended up watching Terminator : Salvation. I think its kinda ok if you're into that action explosions and guns kinda thing. Just take note of this, if you're a terminator fan and intend on watching it due to the intense hunger for a terminator story, do not watch this. A review in the papers described the show as ''not a terminator movie with action. instead an action movie with terminators''. I totally aggree. I think the starting plan for the movie was just to blow stuff up, the terminator name was merely a gimmick to get people to watch it. But still if you want some cool stuff flying around, go for it.

After the movie we decided to spend 2-3 hours in red box. Which was really awesome. It turned out quite cheap and we got a really big room for the 10 of us. Most of us sucked but thats the fun of karaoke right? I think all of us had a blast. And if that wasn't enough, 9/10 of us went for land training yesterday. 1 person didn't go and we still are yet to find out why. It was a fun day and one of the best outings ever.

A few days ago a new disney movie called Hatching Pete premiered. It was a fairly good show. Disney has made several teen high school movies have the same kind of feel and i hope they continue. A typical disney cast starred with Mitchel Musso, Jason Dolley, and Tiffany Thorton. The main theme of the show is about being more open and expressing yourself more. i hope many more disney movies will turn out just as great. Oh not to mention Josie Loren who plays the leading female character is freaking awesome.

I watched High School Musical 3 and Bride Wars on my computer a few days ago. I can say i enjoyed 1 of them and i expected more from the other.

HSM3 was quite good. I think the music and choreography was certainly better then the 1st 2 movies. And the story definitely better then the 2nd movie and almost as good as the original. The movie seemed more mature for some reason this time. One thing that always make me wonder when it comes to movies about high school sports teams. If people like Troy, Chad and others are seniors in this movie. And the fact that they make such an impact as the 'seniors of the squad', then when they were juniors like in the 1st movie, Troy was still captain. Gee, the seniors then must have really sucked. The same thing happened in One Tree Hill with the squad pretty much being about the Scott brothers even if they were sophomores, juniors, or seniors. but other than that, i think the show was great.

Bride Wars on the other hand could have gone better. I feel the trailers made too much of it being a comedy when they should have advertised it as a romance. The comedy section was under par and the story never really stood out. Not as much as i expected from this movie.

As he final whitles were blown yesterday across England, it draws an end to another fantastic campaign of Premier League football. Although, goals were a virtue this time round but races across the table were fantastic. From the 3 way battle between Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United for the crown to the down-to-the-wire relagation battles. Also worth a mention was Aston Villa's incredible attempt to pip Arsenal to the 4th and final Champions League spot and they would have done so if it weren't for lack in depth of the team. Also a highlight was Hull doing a ridiculous 'Devon Loch' season when they scored 20 points in 9 games and then when on to win just 2 in 29 saw them drop from Europe hopefulls to relagation scrappers. Also a feat i fell was under-hyped was the fact that Harry Redknapped pulled Tottenham form last place and steered them to almost Europa Cup qualifiers. Not to mention the numerous managarial changes from Scholari at Chelsea to Keane at Sunderland just to name a few.

Sorry this came 1 day late.

Manchester United has clinched a record equaling 18th title to draw grounds with Liverpool as the most successful English teams of all time. Its number 11 for Sir Alex of a blistering career that looks to be creeping towards its end. When Liverpool won their 18th league title in 1990, nobody thought Manchester United would have been level 19 years later. It was an interesting season on Manchester United's part. Early on they looked to be incapable of retaining the title as Chelsea and Liverpool looked strong as the last 2 remaining undefeated teams. But somehow the Red Devils clawed their way back to the top but even then there was work to do. Main factors of the season are too many to state but mostly all down to the intense depth of the team that carried them past the finish line. From the ever fearful attackin force made up by Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, and Carlos Tevez, to the every fearless defense that was led by Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and John O'shea.

The midfield creativity of numerous players both young and old. And of course the dynamic display by Edwin Van der Sar who stood tall and strong to keep his goal clean for 1311 minutes. I myself felt that the perfect balance of young spirited teens and experienced head strong veterens was what set them apart. There was no doubt that the talent given to Macheda, Welback, Evans, Da silva and Gibson were harnest to its peak by the guidance of Giggs, Scholes and Neville. The pivotol fixtures are clear. The losses against Liverpool and Fulham were tragic but United kept their cool and it showed in stoppage time against Aston Villa when a certain young lad they call Kiko scored a wonderful winner on his debut. And he did it again in the match against Sunderland the following week. Other title deciders such as coming back from 2-0 down at half time against Spurs to score 5 goals in the 2nd half. It is but simple fact that the "fab four" attack of United scored 71 goals in total.

The future of Tevez and Ronaldo is uncertain for next season. But in the name of United they will carry on as they have through any challenges. Not many clubs can win 11 come 2nd 3 times and 3rd another 3 times in just a 17 year period. Next year they will try again. No team every have won the title 4 times in a row. But if there is a record to be broken, United will be 1st in line. Rome next. Catalans beware!

After Wednesday night, we can safely say it is over. The fat lady has not only cleared her throat, she has cleared the room, vacated the building and headed off to Wembley to preside over the play offs.

Rafa Benitez may dream of a preposterous slip up, Arsenal fans may have fantasies of inserting an unlikely spanner in the works, the rest of the country may have visions of a comedy prat fall. But it won't happen.

Tomorrow at about two forty-five, Manchester United will be crowned Premier League champions, after convincing victory over a diminished and demoralised Gunners, with a couple of goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and one each from Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez. Yes, it will be that easy.

This season Manchester United have shown no signs of reduction in their ruthlessness. Sure, when they were truly spanked at home by Liverpool, and then immediately defeated by Fulham, it looked for a moment as though they might falter. But that is when a true team shows itself. Since that stumble United have done anything but crack up. Largely because as a collective they don't do collapse. Against Aston Villa, Sunderland and now Wigan, when a point looked like the best they could hope for, United have insisted on seizing all three, right at the death. Their greed in accumulation knows no bounds.

Even as Wigan played out of their skin, everyone in the JJB on Wednesday knew it was coming, knew the red steam roller would eventually crush the life from its opposition. From that potential hazard conjured by Liverpool in early spring, they have simply grown stronger, with Rooney in particular now playing like the man he always promised to become as a boy. At times these past few weeks, Rooney could turn out against top teams on his own and still win. The fact that between them - Rooney, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic and the rest - have never shown a hint of doubt is more than the mark of a team. It is the mark of champions.

And the bad news for everyone else in the division is that United's third Premier League title on the bounce is unlikely to be their last. Sure, Liverpool pushed them this season. But in the end everyone - including their manager - knows the Merseysiders are not as good as their old rivals, do not have the depth of squad, the experience, the power. They are a work in progress, who might come good, but not yet. And that's a fact.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are ageing too quickly and Arsenal not quickly enough. Compare Arsenal's youngsters to United's. While Arsenal's lavishly talented teenagers like Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are obliged to find their own way in an atmosphere of disappointment and under-achievement, United's Jonny Evans, Federico Macheda, Danny Welbeck and the Da Silva twins are learning how to win, learning at the feet of masters. Put it this way; if you want to be a top-notch defender, who are you most likely to learn from playing alongside: Rio Ferdinand or Mikael Silvestre?

Such is United's continuity, even with a developing, growing, changing roll call of personnel, you could cheerfully put the mortgage on them doing it again in the certain knowledge that it is a bet more likely to accrue a profit than simply leaving the money in the bank. It doesn't really matter if next season they are led by Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema, it will be the same old story.

And, on the subject of bets: here's one I reckon worth a bob or two. Should United beat Barcelona in Rome in 10 days' time, it might be worth putting money on Sir Alex Ferguson finally retiring at the end of next season. Think about it: he has already pulled his team alongside Liverpool's record in the domestic championship, with another likely to follow. If he can match them in continental competition, and pick up the club's fifth European Cup next May in Madrid, then what is there left for him to do?

He will finally and unequivocally have achieved what he set out to do when he arrived at Old Trafford 23 years ago. He will have knocked Liverpool off their effing perch.

Today i celebrated my 15th birthday. Nothing much. Normal day went by. My parents brought me out for dinner at Loganhaus, Taipan. Besides that, pretty normal day. Thaks to everyone that wished me. Just watched X-Men Origins : Wolverine at Pyramid today. The show was great. I have been an X-Men fan for as long as i can remember and Wolverine has always been my favorite character so you can see why i had to watch this show. Although, i was abit doubtful of the storyline as it clashes with what i remember reading about the real past of James Logan. I may be wrong still. The stunts and effects of the show were fantastic. Since i started taking interest in X-Men i have always wondered about the bitter rivary between Sabertooth or Victor Creed and Logan. The show came up with quite a good background for the hatred but still not sure whether it is real. It was fun as i was able to recognise certain mutants even if they were teens/children. Try to watch out for these : Quicksilver, Storm, Toad, Cyclops. Im sure everyone would notice Cyclops since he's an important part of the show. But try to notice the rest as you get glimspe of them and their powers. Will.I.Am was quite good playing John Wraith, the teleporter of Team X. Gambit i feel was portrayed way too strong as i remember him from cartoons or comics. Agent Zero was really cool and so was Wade. I highly recommend this show to everyone even if you're a fan of the franchise or not.

That was the theme of today's Leo of SMKSJ's IU. It was really good. I was proud to be called a Leo after today's IU. The performances were good and the sketch was really funny. Well done guys. The other performances were songs from talented teens. I heard very good version of songs like Home(Shaun), Kiss me(Wendy), Wonderwall(Nabeel), Just dance(Ashley and Sariqah). The other songs were really good too. Just too many to mention. There were some dances that was cool like Ruthe and his gang doing the macha dance haha. John and Adrian's Michael Jackson impresination.

I felt i enjoyed this IU more also because i felt more involved. I got to help out with the decorations and other things which i never had the courage to volunteer for in the past 2 years due to not knowing the members of the board personally. Well that changed this year as i became a more active member and got to know most of the board members. To any Leo members reading this post, please vote for me for Asst. School Director or Asst. IU director. Haha i plan to use as much advertising as possible.

Anyway great IU. Hope this folds out to a good year for Leo and hopefully and good 2009-2010 fiscal year if i get into the board. SJ ROAR ROAR ROAR!!!!

A new single from Kate Voegele. Its lyrics like these that i like. Lyrics that are left to interpretation. The meaning is hard to find because the song is left to what the person listening wants it to be. I have a feeling its about someone who keeps getting told about how she or he is like an angel but somehow still doubts himself/herself and causes confusion inside the head. Well thats just me. National Age Group

Just finished 3 days of NAG. I had quite a good time. Didn't expect that to happen. I thought this competition will leave me lonely and sad. But it was ok. Got to know the Selangor team a little better. But performance wise it was crap. I improved 0 out of 6 events. Didn't bother to look at placings. But still it was a good experience. This was only my 2nd NAG. 2007 wasn't really memorable. But i think this would be. I want to get in the team again!!!!!! Hopefully that will be some sort of extra motivation for my remaining 3 years. Nothing much to talk about. Selangor finished top while Sabah and Sarawak claimed 2nd and 3rd respectively. Some new talents were discovered while usual stars shined even brighter. I don't regret going for this. Hope there will be more for me. Will upload pictures when i find some. Watching Man United game now. Bye!

Sense of home

There is always a very special feel i get whenever i watch a Potter movie, read a Potter book or play a Potter game. I think their lives are so cool and just the weird music in the background and the magic and the mytical creatures and all those things. Besides the amazingly beautiful blonde(Emma Watson), the story of Harry Potter and his friends have a grip on me. It's one of those shows where it'll make you wish you're one of them. Life at Hogwarts seems so cool. My imagination have developed since getting the Hogwart experiece from the 1st movie 8 years ago. Since then i could always find it easy to imagine an adventure for them on my own. I always felt Hogwarts as the typical high school with chaos,teen agnst,scary teachers,nerds,losers,popular kids. All that alone it would seem normal. But mix it up with the magic theme and Quiditch and Defence of the Dark Arts and Hagrid's cabin and the feast in the grand hall and the dangers outside Hogwarts. And you shall get my ultimate fantasy life. Therefore, thank you J.K Rowling and the different directors who directed the Potter films for enlighting my life. If only it were all true.

Today Leo members painted the Dataran Setia and basketball court in our school. The project was organised by our school service director Keenan Khaw. We gathered at around 8am and started work at 8.30. Finished everything at around 10.30. It was quite fun. Enjoyed the experience. Don't think I'll make a very good painter next time but still i got to try my hand at it and ended up with yellow fingers.

Sports day/Earth hour

Yesterday my school held the annual Sports Day. Overall results 1st Yellow=). 2nd Blue. 3rd Green and 4th Red. Things were interesting this year because we changed it to just 4 houses instead of 5. The idea of this was so that each house is allowed 2 runners per event making it possible to use up all 8 lanes. They rearranged everyone into different houses and i can't say i was very happy about leaving my beloved Saga. But Yellow was good too even though this year i felt as though i didn't do much to help with the points. It was a fun day i guess. Nothing much happened.

Earth hour was special too. We all gathered at Ara Damansara(uncle's place) to celebrate this earth helping event together. Lights off at 8.30 and we were just lepaking outside the house. Things were spoiled when the neighbour decided not to help mother earth. Nonetheless we decided to stick with it. We lighted candles and started folding that paper you use to burn. Incense paper i believe it is called. The hour passed really really fast. Soon the lights were back on and it was all back to normal. Hope you guys did your part to help nature as well.

Today was quite fun. The morning started with usual Sunday training. Except that today was fun relay. We did our usual weekend morning jog around the pool. But today was a little different. The mood was happier and there were more people than usual. We hadn't had a fun relay in awhile. I became a group leader for the 1st time. Guess i considered under the group of the older ones liow. I was in group 4. We came in 3rd overall. The games were weird. I'll try to get some pictures from others.

After the fun relay, we had the usual pot luck and thanks to all the parents for bringing such wonderful food. We stayed there for the prize giving. My group being 3rd got a bottle of shampoo,some junk food and some biscuits. After that, 21 of us went in separate cars to 1U. Had a lot of fun there. We watched dragonball evolution. I think me being someone who is totally clueless about dragonball can somehow enjoy the show. But for the die-hard dragonball fans i would recommend to stay away from this film. I heard from my dragonball craze friends that they didn't follow the actual story and that the cartoon was a 100 times better

The UEFA Champions League quarter-final and semi-final draw was held a few moments ago. Here are the results.

Man United vs Porto

Being a Man United fan, i cannot be happier as we avoided big clubs like the English clubs and Barcelona. But Porto will be a tricky match especially in a knock-out match.

Arsenal vs Villareal

No matter how Villareal have performed, i still say this is considred an easy task for Arsenal. However, if the Gunners continue their failure to put the ball at the back of the net, Villareal may just be in luck.

Bayern Munich vs Barcelona

This is a very interesting match. The German giants pinned against the Spanish high-flyers. Both are very good attacking teams and many can expect goals in this match-up. Barcelona may have the advantage after looking at their current form but Bayern is too good a team to let them advance easily.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

Once again Liverpool and Chelsea meet in Europe. For the past 5 seasons this 2 teams have battled it out with Liverpool winning most of the matches. However, Chelsea won the most recent meeting in last season's semi-final. Expect a cracker of a match when these 2 English teams meet.

Today went out to pyramid to watch Race To Witch Mountain. It was really cool. I respect the script writer who ever he is. The script was good when it came to the Aliens speaking like how aliens would speak if the came to Earth. Saying such things like referring to the door as a ''portal''. And acting blur to the things around them. AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig made the script really realistic too. Good acting from both of them. The movie was practically an action filled main course with comedy on the side. And when you see the name Dwayne Johnson, you know the comedy part is well covered. To be honest i had my doubts when the words Disney and PG13 were put together. But they pulled it off. There was really no reason for the PG 13 anyway. IMDB said it was due to too much action. Anyway good show. 9/10

As i waited on my couch. Waiting to see what i hoped would have been a rare win by our own Lee Chong Wei. After his dominating match against Taufik Hidayat in the semi-finals, i thougt this was his chance. I had a feeling inside my gut that this was the time where Lee Chong Wei beats Lin Dan. As the players step on court i remembred a conversation i had with my parents in the morning about how confidence plays a role in Lin Dan's winning streak. For some reason Chong Wei didn't have that shall i say ''arrogant'' look on his face. I believe every good sports person needs to have an arrogant being inside to keep the mood feisty and hungry for sucess. The confidence that drives so many sporting figures today such as Usain Bolt and Lin Dan himself. The courage to say ''Yes, i am the best. I AM number 1.'' For some reason i don't see that in Chong Wei.

None the less, i still stood by the fact that i have a feeling Chong Wei could win this. As he starred down the paramount figure of Lin Dan, i could tell both players a extremely nervous. The crowd was fantastic as Malaysian and Chinese fans traded shouts and cheers of support. But to the reality of current badminton, Lin Dan won in a close match 21-19 21-12. Lin Dan supreme speed and agility could not be matched by the Malaysian and that was how it ended. All England 2009 men singles goes to Lin Dan.

Something just under crazy

The last weekend was spent in Langkawi supporting my brother in the thoughest race on earth. The Ironman. A 3.8km swim. 180km bike. 42km run. You would think who in the world would actually torture themselves to such extend. Apparently 600 people from around the world would. And 1 of those 600 is my brother. His endless months of training and tears and pain he endured paid off in 11 hours and 15 minutes. He targeted an average 12 hour mark but never expected to break it by such a mile. My family was as much as excited as he was. We tracked his route and tried to show up along the way as many times as possible to give support even if it would have helped a little. Anyway, congrats bro. You finally finished the race that was once thought by the 3 of us to be impossible.

As a supporter, the highlight of the Ironman race i have to say was the finish line. To see the dramatic expressions on the people coming in was simply ecstatic. They all had different ways of celebrating their fantastic feat. The ones who are in their 1st Ironman especially were worth a watch. Many ran in with their family and loved ones while others just shouted with glee. Some collapsed on the floor due to exhaution. But no meter how they celebrated their last few moments in the Ironman, they all had the satisfatory of completing something considred just under crazy.

MSSS 09

Sorry for not updating. NOthing have been interesting enough to update about. Anyway jsut spent 3 days at PADE for MSSS. My times were sucky. But can say it was expected. They were mostly like training times. Somehow felt very lazy to sprint through out the WHOLE competition.

Day 1

100 free : 1.03
50 fly: 31

yea i know. Really bad times. Anyway today was the 1st day. Normal competition. Although its MSSS and were suppose to be representing our school. All of us still find our way back to our clubs. So yes. I sat with all the Stingray swimmers at our usual hangout spot. I went training that night. Hard programme. Shall not go into details. Today i realised what a competition without tapering does to you.

Day 2

100 fly : 1.10
50 free : 29

Yup. Once again. BAD TIMES. At this point i actually found it almost amusing that i could not get near my best times. The other races i could tell i wasn't at my best during the race. But somehow during the 50 free i felt good. Felt strong. Was beating the rest. But still ended up wit a time more than a second off my personal best. Today it rained hard towards the end of the day. It was really fun. Hahaha

Day 3

200 free : 2.23
4x100 free relay
4x100 medley relay

Horrible time for the 200. I felt sucky. I died before the 100m mark. So was suffering through the last 100m. The relays were ok. I thought we could get a medal for each. But ended up with 5th for the free relay and 4th for the medley relay. Today during lunch got to watch the MSSS for waterpolo. Quite a cool sport. But don't intend on joining it anytime soon.

Conclusion of this MSSS. Sucky. I found out that tapering is REALLY important. Too bad we can't taper for every competition. Still i had fun as always. Always a good time when hanging out with my swimming mates.

Raphael Nadal won his 1st ever Australian Open today in a matched which showed true quality from both him and Federer. He eventually won 7-5 3-6 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 6-2 as he showed he can too play on a hard court. They both played well and it was a sight of great sport. As described by the commentator, Nadal was like a human machine. Almost unstoppable in every point regardless of who held the serve. He defied the odds as most would have picked Federer for the title. The victory ceremony was an emotional one as Federer couldn't hold back his tears as he missed out on yet another chance to equal Pete Sampras's record of 14 Grand Slams. His speech was cut short as he couldn't speak any longer and only muttering ''God, this is killing me". His emotions must have touched at least majority of the people watching the event around the World. And what a way to end this fantastic match with none other than Nadal being the one to comfort him and even apologizing in his Victory speech saying ''Rog, sorry for today. I really know how you feel right now. Remember that you are a great champion and you are one of the best in history and you will beat Pete Sampras’ 14 titles for sure". This display of real sportsmanship was simply icing on top of the cake for all the viewers as it was really a fantastic night for tennis.

Oh and update on the Australian Open. Nadal just played the longest ever tennis match the Australian Open has ever seen. He played his fellow compatriot Fernando Verdasco. The match was both exciting and frustrating as seen in the eyes of the 2 players. In the women's final, Safina was unfortunately beaten by Serena Williams rather embarrassingly 6-0 6-3.

Kampung CNY

I came back from Pahang this evening. My trips to Pahang has always been the same. Nice weather since my relatives live in quite a ''kampung'' place. The people there are nice. The usual hotel we always stay in. But this time they added WiFi which was great. The usual visiting to the same old houses I've been going since i was like 5. Grandfather's bike still there. Oh and this time there were dogs there. Really friendly dogs. Enjoyed playing with them. And those of you who knows me, the dogs have to be REALLY friendly if i dare to get close to them. Saw my baby cousins growed up a little and starting to talk. There was a new shopping centre there. It was opposite the same temple we always go. While i was there, i watched 2 movies. Ip man and Made of honour.

Ip man was really cool. Even though the DVD we got had horrible English subtitles. I understood it pretty well. I think they filmed it well too. How every punch and every kick was taken to such great detail. It was a good reflection on how badly the Japanese occupation treated us and our homes. Makes me relieved that its all over now.

Made of honour was ok. Maybe the bad sound quality from the DVD played a role in making it seem bad. The storyline is exactly what you get in a synopsis or summary. They didn't really expand the story. The show was kinda short. Almost like a children's show. It was merely average. Nothing more. Nothing less.

What i your definition of a perfect life? Clear blue skies. Evergreen trees as far as the eye can see. Suroundings filled with caring people. Finding love and being loved in return. Music filling backgrounds. Perfect country views. A walk down a path decorated by vased flowers. Wising a loving neighbour good morning. Nice fresh air. A run down to the usual stores. A wave or 2 to the lovely people in town. A tip of a hat from Mr. Watson. A smile fom Miss Green. A joyful sound coming from the playgrounds of happy children. A simple breakfast at my favorite cafe. A trip to the flower shop to have a bouquet of flowers in hand when meeting someone i care for. A box of chocolates for a caring lady. A packet of sweets for the ever so happy kids running along witout a care in the world. A hello from the town's docter. A special hon of greeting from the patroling police men enjoying their donuts. A quick walk past the apple trees to see youths picking the ever healthy fruit. A young family with a baby in hand. A special thank you to the milk man and newspaper man for their good day's work. A filling meal at the same restaurant for lunch. A visit to dear old Mrs. Daniels for tea. A night out with friends for a grand dinner. And a trip back home to a lovely bed and a good night's rest knowing that all these wont go away the nex morning.

Guess what!! I found a new female celebrity singer to be obsessed with. How i found her? Long story. She is part of a group called Clique Girlz which features her, her sister Paris, and Her best friend Ariel. Their songs are ok..........They don't have many songs yet. They have opened for a few other starts such as Jonas Brothers, Click Five, Backstreet Boys and few more. I still haven't grown a liking to their music yet. Ok back to how i found them. Was listening to an album called AT&T Team USA. It was an album featuring many artist such as Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow and tons more. One of the songs is sung by the Clique Girlz. The album was made in support of the USA Olympic team this recent Beijing Games. And for the record, I don't like ALL 3 of them. I just like Destinee. HAHAHAHA

SAG day 3

The final day of the Selangor Age Group was an enjoyable one.

200 freestyle : 2.15.96

I improved and it was a good race. I got 5th overall. I thought i was in a good position to get 4th but Joey Chan just had that extra push in the last 25m where i lost out.

50m backstroke : 38.16

haha. A 'for-fun' event. Didn't expect much. I didn't do a best time and im not sure whether i got disqualified. I forgot to check the results.

50m freestyle : 28.61

Also didn't improve. Mainly because of my horrible breakout. I blame the breakout for the crooked diving board in lane 3. Oh well, i never liked the 50s anyway.

4x100 medley relay : 4.43

We won gold again!!! Adam started of with the backstroke and he got us around half a second lead over KSAS. Shaun took over for the breaststroke where he was fantastic.
He got us a 25m lead over the rest of the field and as i jumped in for the butterfly leg it felt great to be so far in front. I held the lead and so did Kin Ho in the freestyle as we won the gold, 10 seconds in front of nearest competitors Cempaka.

Another day of the Selangor Age Group. I had 4 events today.

400 Freestyle : 4.51.22

Was happy with this time. But still expected better. I got 5th AGAIN. Had a good race.

400IM : 5.40.37

Improved. But still a horrible time. My splits were crazy. Have to get my strategy right. Still don't find this event fun. I got a Bronze.

50 Butterfly : 30.68

Improved too. I got 6th. Not bad. Nothing much to say about a 50m event.

Relay (4x100 freestyle) : 4.05.68

We won Gold!!!! Well we expected it since 3 of us were in the top 10 in the individual event. I went 1st so i had to honour of getting my own time. It was 1.00.22. Even faster compared to yesterday. Still can't go sub 1 minute. but oh well. It rocked. Team mates were Kin Ho, Shaun Foong and Adam Lim.
